Our Project

Dogood Café – Human Friendly is a dog café in Ixelles, created for dog lovers and anyone who enjoys excellent coffee and delectable food. Our mission is twofold : to promote professional inclusion by employing people with disabilities, and to support dog adoption by hosting rescue dogs on-site one day each month.

Dogood Café was founded by France, Garance, and Niccolo – three dog enthusiasts with complementary skills in disability support, hospitality, animal welfare, and training.

Well-being rests at the heart of everything we do : for our customers, we serve high-quality, locally sourced products; for our staff, we provide comfort, respect, dignity, and support; and for the dogs themselves, we offer cozy beds, gourmet meals, an animal osteopathy and rehabilitation center (Dogood), and the active promotion of shelter dog adoption.

Inclusion

At Dogood Café, we train and employ people with disabilities, offering professional development in hospitality roles such as cooking, service, barista work, maintenance, and animal care.

We also provide opportunities for individuals with more significant disabilities to volunteer in roles that complement those of our employed staff and trainees. This option is likewise available for young people who cannot work at the café due to time constraints or family circumstances.

In partnership with the Dogood Animal Osteopathy and Rehabilitation Center, located next door, Dogood Café offers animal-assisted therapy sessions to support the well-being of our employees and enhance their workplace experience.

Adoption

Dogood Café serves as a showcase for shelter dogs to help facilitate their adoption. Once a month, our partner Sans Collier brings one of their dogs for visitors to meet in the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of Dogood Café. On these days, we kindly ask that you do not bring your own dogs, so that the shelter dog can feel calm and comfortable while meeting its potential new family.
